Hipstamatic Test 1 – John S Lens

10 Apr

I wanted to become more familiar with the personalities of each lens and film for my hipstamatic, so I tested each lens with each film. What I thought was my favorite is no longer a valid assumption. I’ll post a new test each day so check back to see the results. Please note that I did not use the film Kodot XGrizzled, and the lens Kaimal Mark II,  because I think they are terrible and already knew I didn’t like them.

Location: Outside my apartment building in Suwon, South Korea.

Lens: John S

Film (left to right, top to bottom)

Blanko, Ina’s 1969, Ina’s 1935

BlacKeys B+W, BlacKeys SuperGrain, Claunch 72 Monochrome

Alfred Infrared, Pistil, Float,

Dream Canvas, Cano Cafenol, Blanko Noir,

Opinion: Overall this lens is not one I really care for.  I think paired with Ina’s 1969, Pistil and Blanko Noir, it’s okay.
