LTLYM exhibit, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Harpist Pinhole Portrait
13 Jan
In October Gary and I photographed the Believe Concert a benefit for Envita and the Fullness of Life Foundation. So I was lucky to catch the whole show on stage. I was mesmerized by the Harp. Did you know a Harp has more moving parts than your car? That’s just one of the fascinating facts I learned that evening. I also got to meet and hang out the Chevy Chase, as he was the host of the event.
I have some fantastic news! Over the summer I was in an exhibit in Middlesbrough, UK called LTLYM (Learning To Love You More) curated by the fantastic photographer Nicky Peacock. Well, the show is now traveling and my 16 sunburst pinhole images were chosen to be in the LTLYM exhibit at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, in Gateshead, UK. (The building is gorgeous, definitely visit the website)
Housed in a landmark industrial building on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, BALTIC is the biggest gallery of its kind in the world – presenting a dynamic, diverse and international programme of contemporary visual art.
If you happen to be visiting or live in the area, make sure not to miss the Yoko Ono exhibit also on display. (Yes, I’m showing in a gallery that is also featuring Yoko Ono, one of my favorite conceptual artists, at the same time!!)

That is great news! Congrats!
Also, I have to say that harp photo is AMAZING! It captures the light and motion – as well as the elegance of the instrument – perfectly!
Thank You Stephanie!
Hi Sheila,
I’m so pleased to have stumbled across your website! I was also in the LTLYM show in Middlesbrough and have 2 pics in the Baltic show (though wouldn’t have been my choice to exhibit…was hoping for the ‘strangers holding hands’…looked kind of 50′s mid west america)..anyway..still great to have work in the Baltic and at the same time as Yoko Ono….I’m not worthy…I’m not worthy!! So, just to say your pinhole pics in the Middlesbrough show were some of my favourite pieces…I just wish in the baltic they hadn’t put them right at the very top of a wall….they’re so intimate and beautiful and warrant some close, personal relationship with the viewer…really gorgeous…..MOVE THEM DOWN BALTIC PEOPLE and let us get up close and personal!!

Hello Debs!
Thank you so much for posting a comment. It’s so neat to meet other people that are also in the LTLYM exhibit! Thank you for the kind words about my work.
You have a fantastic website. I went through all your photos this morning and love your landscape images. Do you have a flickr?
Hi Sheila
I did put works on flickr ages ago but very old work – I don’t really use it. Thanks for checking out my website and comment about the landscapes, it’s still a bit of a work in progress…the landscapes and abstracts I think are probably the most interesting…needs much editing still.
Let me know when you next exhibiting work, would be interested in seeing…harp photo gorgeous by the way….perhaps if you’d be interested in something collaborative we could put our heads together?
